In a medium bowl, lightly mash together the minced garlic and red onion to help release their flavors.
Add the avocado and gently mash with a fork until mostly creamy but still slightly chunky.
Stir in cilantro, lime juice, tomatoe, salt, and pepper.
Taste and adjust lime juice, salt, or pepper as desired.
