Ingredients

  • 4 ripe pears peeled, diced small
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 c. Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 c. Light brown sugar
  • Pinch salt
  • 1-2 tbsp water if needed to thin consistency

Instructions

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, add pears, spices, and sugars. Stir and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to simmer, cover, and cook for 10 minutes. Uncover and use a fork, masher, or back of your spatula to crush the pears as much as you can.
  • Continue to cook for another 5-10 minutes until reduced and very slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. If the jam seems very thick, you can add 1 -2 tbsp of water to help it thin out a little to get to the consistency you like. If you add water though make sure to simmer for another minute for it to combine well.
  • Remove from heat, cool, and then pour into glass containers for storage.

Notes

Store in fridge, in airtight container, up to 3 weeks.
Use ripe, but firm pears like Bosc or Bartlett for the best texture and natural sweetness.
