Add the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, dried onion flakes, brown sugar, smoked paprika, oregano, coriander, chipotle powder, kosher salt, and black pepper to a small bowl or jar.
Stir well with a spoon, or secure the lid and shake the jar until all of the ingredients are evenly combined.
Transfer the taco seasoning to an airtight spice jar or container and store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months. Shake before each use.
Use on meat or vegetables. Use 2–3 tablespoons of seasoning per pound of meat, poultry, seafood, or vegetables, adjusting to taste.
For ground beef: Brown 1 pound of ground beef, then add 2–3 tablespoons of taco seasoning and ¼ cup water. Stir well and simmer for 2–3 minutes, or until the liquid has mostly cooked off and the meat is well coated.
