Use an immersion blender or blender to blend until smooth and creamy.
Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and toss thoroughly until everything is evenly coated.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the broccoli to soften slightly while still keeping a nice crunch.
Toss once more before serving and top with extra toasted almonds if desired.
